This was never really a hike. It was a goodbye that needed somewhere to go. Hike for Hospice Niagara was built around the people left behind after care ends, the families and friends who keep walking because grief has nowhere else to put its body.

The campaign treated every step as a form of remembrance. A wet road. A slow start. A runner pushing through weather. Someone tying their shoes while carrying more than anyone can see. The lines were written like private admissions made public. This isn’t a hike. It’s a goodbye I never finished. I walk slow because I’m carrying a lot. Some days this is all I can do.

The work reframed the event as more than fundraising. It became a shared ritual for people who loved someone through the end and still need to gather, move, remember, and be witnessed. Not to get over the loss. To carry it together for a few more steps.
